I've been busy. Really busy.
Life:
- Making food for two long weekends (Comiccon and an Iaido seminar)
- Finishing my costume for Comiccon, which is in 5 days! (Carnival Punk Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
- Went to On the Brink on Friday to hear authors read. Won a book and bought a Steampunk anthology.
- In training this week for work (off-site) and it's an early start for me
Writing:
- Editing The Page & The Magician (just finished Chapter 3)
- Finished a short story called The Blood Waitress Club, which is on revision 3 and I'm just waiting for feedback before I put it up on Smashwords
- I've been trying to write short stories that may fit into some anthology, but I find it harder to write with some specific criteria in mind rather than coaxing the words from my soul
Guitar:
- We are learning a lot of songs (Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Green Day, Black Eyed Peas, Bare Naked Ladies, Simon & Garfunkel, ABBA, Ed Sheeran, The Animals, John Fogerty, Ian Thomas)
- I have been falling behind slightly
Iaido:
- Preparing for the annual May Iaido and Jodo seminar in Guelph. It's 3 days long
Goals:
1. Finish the second draft of The Page & The Magician
2. Get The Blood Waitress Club up on Smashwords for sale
3. Get another short story ready for a contest or magazine submission
Ciao,
R~

That title for "The Blood Waitress Club" sounds intriguing -- and you sound like you're having fun and making progress on the writing. I hope you persevere and reach your goals, maybe even with a little night music to go with that story. Would you consider posting a pic of your Comicon costume (Punk Buffy????)?
ReplyDeleteNo kidding you've been busy.
ReplyDeleteIf we weren't going to Scotland in the fall to her brother's wedding, my daughter might attend Comic Con as well.
You mentioned Guelph, so I had to check it out and see if it is the Guelph I know . . . and it is. We live south of London. I don't know that I've met any fellow ROWers who are in my neck of the woods.
Anyhoo, all the best with your busy schedule.
Thank you! It should calm down some after Victoria Day, thankfully. Well as calm as it gets, which is still busy, but not like it has been lately. Tomorrow is the last day of training for work. Then I have one day on the office and I'm thinking of going to see Avengers. Then Comiccon. I have everything for my costume now, which is better than previous years. I probably won't get to picking up my wristband early, but my friend can't get hers early anyway, so it works out. Scotland will be beautiful and the experiences no doubt enriching. Comiccon is an annual event, so she can come next year ;)
ReplyDeleteWe'll see on the pic. I'm terrible at taking selfies. I'm skilled at persevering as long as I actually want to achieve something and I want to put my writing it into the world soon.
ReplyDeleteThe Avengers was so much fun. Did you get to see it? I love the humorous elements, the one-liners in particular. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI did! I enjoyed it. Have a great week to you too!
